"When your toddler cooks dinner for his furry friend or gives him a bath, he is practicing adult roles in a way that helps him make sense of the world," says Amy Flynn, director of the Bank Street Family Center, in New York City. Preschoolers get even more dramatic by giving their dolls and stuffed animals human qualities as they act out conflicts and frustrations. You may walk in on your 3-year-old as she's angrily telling her stuffed animal, "You're going in to time-out!" (You won't be the only mom who feels slightly horrified, wondering if that's how you sound to your child!) Next, you may see reenactments of events, but with an outcome that suits your child better -- for example, letting all her dolls have cookies before dinner.
Why we love it: Freddie's bright colours and different sounds and textures mean he's a bit of a baby magnet: so much to see, feel, hear and chew! Our tester's mum was really taken with the toy's quality and how much it stimulated and held her baby Andy's attention. A couple of months later, she's still impressed with it.  'It's a lovely toy,' she says, 'and it washes great – it's been washed a billion times!'
There is a mirror, crinkles, rattle, it makes click clack sounds, there are lot of parts that babies can grasp, shake or swing to practice their motor skills. There are also parts perfect for stimulating gums for teething baby. Thanks to this toy baby can learn how to distinguish colors and recognize familiar object, noises and faces. Clip Clop is suitable from 3 months.
You’ll be surprised by how long your baby will play with this – both in one sitting and how old he’ll be before he loses interest. This will be his go-to drool contraption, and the colors and cords will engage him. When he ages a bit more, he’ll love to try to figure it out – where does this cord go? And tracing the path of each cord will give him a whole new way … to chew it.

This cute plush owl plays ten different lullabies and has an optional night light that projects a soothing starry light show. After 30 minutes, the owl automatically turns off — eliminating the need for parents to sneak back in to turn the unit off. Give your newborn a brand new, ultra plush pal to cuddle up with while they dream. These forest furries will keep your infant warm and comfortable. Each plush doll comes with a color-coordinated blanket. Bunnies, owls, puppies, racoons, reindeer, hippos, bears, ducks, giraffes, monkeys, lambs, and elephants all line the shelves, waiting for the chance to move into their favorite baby’s crib. The combination of the extra-soft material, sweet pastel colors, and darling baby animal lovvies will have babies reaching and grasping for their favorite blanket and buddy duo in no time. Infants develop and flex fine-motor skills when presented with the proper inspiration, and this gift is one such example of a toy they’ll want to hold onto for as long as they can. The stuffed animal is not reinforced heavily and so easily detaches from its blanket if you would prefer that they be usable as separates. Both items can be machine washed at 40 degrees Celsius, and then air-dried. BENEFITS Encourage baby to continue developing their fine-motor skills by giving them something they can’t wait to grab. These cute stuffies and blankets are the perfect security blanket for nap-happy newborns. PROS

Teething is arguably the most unpredictable process in a baby’s development. Some babies are born with one or two teeth, others don’t have teeth even by the first year. There’s also no way to predict how long it will take your baby to have a full set of teeth from the time the first ones come in. That means your baby can go through many different stages of teething over a long period of time. Hence, versatility–specifically, adaptability–was one of our primary criteria when we looked at baby teethers and teething toys.

Toy shopping is serious business. Toys that are too easy will bore your babe. Those that are too advanced will aggravate him. But pick one that's just right for his skill level, and you'll be giving him hours of education, exploration, and enjoyment "Toys are an investment in a child's development," says Marianne Szymanski, founder and president of Toy Tips, Inc. and co-author of Toy Tips: A Parent's Essential Guide to Smart Toy Choices. Ready to shop? We've compiled a list of age-appropriate toys -- as well as ones to avoid -- for each developmental level.

First impressions for Mia’s Camper Van set are that it is really colorful and pretty sizable. The stickers give it some nice extra detailing. The set also includes a raft seating two mini dolls. It’s definitely a nice place to be and there’s plenty of play space for imaginative story-telling.
When my kids play with stacking cups, I like to think of it as good practice for emptying the dishwasher, but they're actually stockpiling math and science skills. Sometime between his first and second birthday, he'll be able to place the cups on top of one another. He's usually not stacking them in any order, but he's starting to understand size relationships. Don't pressure him to do it the "right" way. As he gets older, he'll realize, If I put the small cup inside the big one, the medium one won't fit. He's starting to understand seriation -- a fancy word for putting things in their proper order.

This vintage-inspired, all-sustainable-wood camper play set comes with four peg people and a pet dog ready to hit the road — or the front hall. “One-year-olds are just figuring out how they can influence the world around them, so they love putting things into containers and taking them out,” says Lytle. “This really speaks to that urge. It’s also nice that it’s a bus because a child that young is more likely to have been in a car or bus than a boat or plane, so this is more relatable.”

We recently spoke to Dr. Nick Cornett, a play therapist in northwest Arkansas — the play therapy center of the United States — to get his take on what toys he’d recommend for toddlers. According to Cornett, “the more open-ended the toy, the better.”  It’s just like how an interviewer avoids yes / no questions; they circumscribe dialogue. Cornett divides toys up by “real life” toys, “active or constructive” toys, and “creative expression” toys. Each genre offers the kid a chance to truly express himself, and therefore a therapist to observe. Here, per Cornett, are some parameters of — and our choices for — seven great toys for toddlers.

The Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy is great because it provides baby with seven classical music tunes (including Mozart, Vivaldi, Chopin, and Rossini) at the touch of a button, but there’s more to love about this toy than just the tunes. Baby’s senses will be delighted as she watches the lights dance with each note and as she learns to grip the toy with its easy-to-hold (and adorable) giraffe sidebar.
It seems like babies are constantly growing and changing — and keeping track of all the memories can be a tall task! After eight weeks, parents are (probably) starting to get a little more sleep, and it might seem more within reach to begin making a keepsake memory book. The First 5 Years Memory Book from C.R. Gibson is a popular choice for recording all the moments and memories that are too precious to forget.

Teething toys are one of the most important toys you can ever buy for your baby. These toys help stimulate the healthier eruption of your baby’s teeth while at the same time helping relieve some of the pain and discomfort your baby might experience in relation to tooth eruption. More importantly, because teething toys are, well, toys, they provide additional benefits to the optimum psychomotor and cognitive development of your baby. This is why teething toys remain one of the most common gifts parents and individuals often give to their own babies or the babies of an acquaintance.
This toy is suited for children nine months and up, and the light up part can be removed and placed on the floor for tummy time fun. It’s best not to underestimate your baby’s strength, even at just a few months old. Early teethers may have fragile gums, but they can still gnaw through weak, poorly made toys. We want to assure you that we’ve chosen teethers with proven durability, thanks to innovative construction methods and durable materials. Solid constructions can come from numerous processes, such as individual knotting for beads, one-piece construction for loops and beads, or the usage of premium-grade silicone.

Infants who are less than 28 days old are generally classified as newborns or, in medical parlance, neonates; although it is not uncommon to see some parents calling a 3 month old baby still a newborn. This stage of a child’s development is very crucial as he or she is still adjusting to life outside the protection of the mother’s womb. Neonates are especially vulnerable to infections, injuries, and other illnesses. Unfortunately, it is also a very critical stage in his or her development because anything that he or she experiences or senses by this time will already be imprinted on his or her very young mind.

There are also parts perfect for stimulating gums for teething baby. Thanks to this toy baby can learn how to distinguish colors and recognize familiar object, noises and faces.
