Toddlers are constantly learning and growing, which is why educational toys are so popular for this age group. Learning toys are the perfect way for parents to keep their little ones entertained while teaching them new skills like walking, counting, and writing. It’s definitely a win-win when playtime is educational, and that’s why learning toys for toddlers are a great gift.
Exersaucers and jumpers encourage babies to take weight through their feet in a standing position while they play. For babies that are the recommended age range, who can not climb out, they give baby a contained place to play. However, developmentally, parents should be mindful of the time babies spend in exersaucers and always balance their playtime with floor time so baby can learn other developmental skills, too.
This toy is suited for children nine months and up, and the light up part can be removed and placed on the floor for tummy time fun. With 70 sing-along songs, noises and sayings your baby will delight in all this has to offer. Even after they've mastered walking they'll love pushing this around the house or outdoors, so it has a long "shelf life" in any home.

A toddler will start to achieve milestones in the realm of creativity as well. They’ll start to understand simple fantasy stories and how to develop and use their own creativity for pretend play. During this period, since the imagination becomes very active, it is crucial that the toddler learns how to separate fantasy from reality and an issue with nightmares might develop as well. In response, if your toddler achieves the milestone of simple problem solving and learning what is and isn’t correct, the issue shouldn’t expand into something more.
Save your walls from crayon scribbles and give your children an approved outlet for artistic expression with an easel. While drawing at a table is easy and efficient, an art easel offers the added benefit of a large canvas that clips into place. Kids don’t have to worry about their picture sliding around, and you don’t have to worry about them “accidentally” drawing where they shouldn’t. Select an easel with a handy shelf that keeps all their art supplies within reach.
A: Colorful toys help to stimulate baby’s eyesight and engage them in play. High-contrast toys, such as toys with lots of different animals, help your child to switch focus. By pointing out the colors, and talking about the different animals, your baby will learn to follow along with you, rather than staying fixed on one subject. They might not understand the meaning of your words yet, or be able to differentiate between the animals fully, but they’ll develop the mental capacity to change tracks. Deceptively simple concepts and toys can still have a huge impact on your child’s learning to assess and functionally interact with the world around them.
Babies always need these. They get lost or used, and you can just simply never have enough. Link them together when baby is first grasping things and put them directly in her hand so she can feel the sensation of grabbing something; let her pull on them from her activity mat mobile. When she starts moving her hands more, she can shake them as a rattle. You can even use them as a chain to connect a sippy cup or pacifier to the stroller or car seat to prevent loss.

Gloomhaven is a deep, complex, combat-focused game for 1-4 players with games lasting 1-2 hours. You team up with others to complete your goals while uncovering the threats to Gloomhaven. The campaign is comprised of a number of scenarios — each with its own objective. If you ever run out of health, you are defeated. If you like tactical combat and resource management, this game is excellent at both of those. Every turn is a tough decision about what cards to use and how to use them. There’s a huge variety of enemies to face with each requiring a different approach. There are a lot of ways to improve your character, including adding combat modifier cards, equipment, and action cards. The best part of this game is the sheer amount of content it has out of the box. With close to 100 missions, there’s a ton of game to discover. However, the game is not cheap so you’ll want to play a lot to get your money’s worth.

There is something about rattles that fascinates little children. With the My First Bead Buddy Giraffe for Baby, babies can now create all the sounds they can muster with colorful beads creating the rattle in the circular ring of the giraffe’s body. The neck is adorned with colorful wavy rings and with colorful plush head and feet, this can be a great toy for infant development.

They still may want your keys in the store, but this key ring toy has enough similar features that they may be distracted enough from yours that you can stop worrying about the car alarm going off in the parking lot being yours. The buttons, lights, and sounds will make baby happy, and they have a great little ring that will let you use just about any fastener to strap it to the cart, stroller, or car seat to prevent loss.

In the next stage, "bridging," your preschooler begins to make her own simple structures. She may put two blocks down, then place a third block over the space between them. In addition to learning how to balance, she is beginning to experiment with symmetry. Bridging leads to "enclosures." You can't build without being able to organize and enclose space. How am I going to fill that space? is a complicated question, requiring that your child figure out how many big and small blocks are needed to get the job done. Not only is your child planning ahead, but she is problem solving.

By the time your child is 3, she'll enter the next phase of block play: "stack and row." Now she can stack the blocks vertically or lay them down and configure them horizontally. She's not building with a specific purpose yet, but she is beginning to try her hand at patterns. The first patterns are usually identical blocks placed on the floor one after another until she adds a twist, such as putting a square after a rectangle, and another square after the next rectangle, and so on. "Math is the study of patterns," says MacDonald, "and encouraging block-patterning lays the foundation for math skills." Here's where fractions come into play. When she puts down two blocks side by side, she can see that, together, they form the same size and shape as one larger block.

Building blocks are popular toddler toys that provide an early lesson in the laws of physics. Your kids can learn about gravity, cause and effect, and the importance of a stable foundation without even realizing it. Blocks are a smart buy for young ones since kids typically maintain interest even as they get older. Start with a set of wooden blocks or big plastic ones that interlock. Both are a good size for toddlers who are still mastering fine motor skills.

A: Both solid and gel-filled toys provide their own lists of benefits, so choosing between the two is easier than you think. Consider your baby’s developmental level. To determine which is best for your little one, consider at which stage of teething they are currently experiencing. For example, your baby, aged 3 months, may experience increased tenderness as their teeth are brand new and still breaking through the gum’s surface. A solid teething toy may apply too much pressure to your baby’s delicate gums. Additionally, consider how experienced your baby is with chewing or gumming as new objects in the mouth can be a little off-putting or frightening, a softer or gel-filled toy will be less abrasive. If your baby is a little older and has already been exposed to some solids, then a firmer toy is likely to be more effective.
A rattle is one of the first toys most babies get and that has been unchanged for hundreds of years. This set of maracas, however, gives a bit more flavor to old rattles of the past. Not only are the beads in the maracas visible through the clear surroundings, but the bottom is a soft pom-pom grip that will allow baby to experience texture variation and will likely end up in his mouth (like everything else).
3. Promote interaction and language : Some toys are more supportive of playing with  and talking to your baby than others. A book that reads itself to your toddler as she turns pages or pushes buttons leaves little room for a parent to interact. A spider toy that sings the whole "Itsy Bitsy Spider" song doesn't promote imitation of hand motions as mommy or daddy sings it to baby. Look for toys that do less for the child and that allow the space for you as a parent to ask questions, tell a story, sing a song, make an animal noise,  and make observations.

Wooden puzzles are a wonderful toy for toddlers and helps them to develop important cognitive skills such as matching and spatial awareness.  The specific type of puzzle will be dependent on the age and ability of your child.  The puzzle above is appropriate for a 2-year old while beginning jigsaw puzzles would be more appropriate for a 3-year old.

A: Babies drool, this is unavoidable. If you find with these toys, your baby is drooling more excessively than before, it’s because the extra stimulation causes more salivation. Keeping a burp rag or extra cloth on hand will help you with the clean-up. Consider also switching toys out regularly as this can help minimize drooling. Differing textures will provide stimulation to different areas of the mouth and gums, helping to break the amount of occurring salivation.
