If you read this site for any amount of time you know how much I love I Am a Bunny. BEST. BOOK. EVER!

This colorful looped grab toy is the perfect size for little hands and has a gentle texture for young ones to gnaw on. It can even be refrigerated to a cool temperature to soothe sensitive teething gums. Although it’s simple, many parents find their babies mesmerized by the rattle and colors. It’s also lightweight enough to play with from an early age.
Teething is arguably the most unpredictable process in a baby’s development. Some babies are born with one or two teeth, others don’t have teeth even by the first year. There’s also no way to predict how long it will take your baby to have a full set of teeth from the time the first ones come in. That means your baby can go through many different stages of teething over a long period of time. Hence, versatility–specifically, adaptability–was one of our primary criteria when we looked at baby teethers and teething toys.
Seriously how cute is Ricky the trick loving pup!?  He’s new from FurReal and totally interactive.  In fact, not only does he respond with over 100 sounds and motions, but he actually performs the cutest little tricks ever like flipping his bone, ‘shaking paws’ with you, barking a catchy little tune, and so much more!  Did we mention he’s affectionate too?  The kiddos can help ‘train’ him and reward him with treats.  When they do that, Ricky the pup will eat them and, well, when they pet his back he’ll poop them out.  This one comes with 18 dog treats, a treat pouch, and a fun little bone toy too!  We love him!
Created by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, Relative Insanity is like Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, but you can play it in front of the family. It’s a game that you’ll love playing because you’re sure to get lots of laughs. There are punch line cards and setup cards. Someone reads the setup, for example: “When my cousin walked in with my new baby, my grandma blurted out _______.” Then players look at their punch lines and submit the one that’s going to get the biggest laugh. The setup person picks the best answer and that player scores points.
These dissolve so quickly that they’re the least scary solid food you can give your baby. If you don’t believe us, try them yourself; you’ll be surprised how quickly this goes from looking like a choking hazard to completely melted in your mouth without the use of your teeth at all. The taste isn’t so great (for us, but for a baby that’s just experiencing all tastes for the first time, it’s wonderful), but after you and baby are more comfortable with them, you can give them to baby without worrying if she’s going to choke. And handing them to a screaming baby is just another quick fix we like to have in our parenting arsenal.

The manufacturers of the items listed here were careful to keep baby in mind when choosing the materials for their toys. Knowing that infants would be teething and gnawing on these toys, most of them are made with nontoxic or BPA-free materials to keep your baby safe. The fabrics are all super soft so the baby will not be scratched or have problems with its tender skin. Even the toys with crinkly fabrics for the crunchy sounds are soft to the touch and ready for nibbling and teething infants.

As you keep up with tummy time, you'll see baby holding his head higher and steadier. By the end of month three, he may be able to raise his shoulders and upper chest. He'll probably roll a few times accidentally if he turns his head too far, but before long he'll doing it intentionally. (Want to get some rolling practice in? Place baby in a side-lying position.) You may also notice baby kicking a bunch while lying on his back, which helps strengthen the belly muscles needed to eventually roll over. Another fun development? Baby may start to intentionally reach for and grasp toys—but knowing how to let go of objects hasn’t set in yet. Keep in mind that babies at this stage are relying on their senses (sight, hearing, touch and smell) to navigate around the new world around them, so offer up some healthy stimulation.
Save your walls from crayon scribbles and give your children an approved outlet for artistic expression with an easel. While drawing at a table is easy and efficient, an art easel offers the added benefit of a large canvas that clips into place. Kids don’t have to worry about their picture sliding around, and you don’t have to worry about them “accidentally” drawing where they shouldn’t. Select an easel with a handy shelf that keeps all their art supplies within reach.

These toys seem like they would be great for my kids to play with. I remember that I used to love playing with cardboard blocks. They were fun because I should use them to build a fort or a tower that’s any size that I want it to be. My kids have great imaginations, so this seems like a great toy for them that will let their imaginations run wild with all of the things they would build. Thanks for posting this!
The Ninja Nightcrawler is based on the TV series. It is actually a lot larger than you would expect based on the pictures. It features a muscular racing-type look. It features a spacious cockpit, seating one driver. The set is not particularly difficult to assemble. Set comes with three minifigures and a small motorbike. Kids will really enjoy having this set.
This activity center features tracks for wooden beads, with hidden animals that will keep tots busy for hours. “One of the things I always like to look for in a toy is one that allows kids a lot of options not only in terms of things to do,” says Lytle, “but in ways to do it, because at this age you want a child to learn by figuring out the pathway to using the toy and not necessarily direct them with a specific set of rules. A toy like this has a lot of different options, so they can do things like move the beads and just explore around the whole toy. They’ll always find a new feature and something new to do.”

Grumblies are the anti-virtual interactive pet. They’re geared towards boys and have fart and burp noises. You have to aggravate them enough to get them into meltdown mode. So you shake and toss them around. It’s something brothers would do to their sister’s virtual pets. At a certain point, he totally melts down and farts! There are four different ones, each with its own personality and each represents a different element.

Once you are satisfied a toy is safe, also make sure to consider your child's interests. Give the musically-inclined youngster instruments like a compact xylophone with a soft and oversized mallet, for example, or a lightweight piano that sits low on the ground. It's best to hold off on stringed instruments until a child is a few years old, though.

We recently spoke to Dr. Nick Cornett, a play therapist in northwest Arkansas — the play therapy center of the United States — to get his take on what toys he’d recommend for toddlers. According to Cornett, “the more open-ended the toy, the better.”  It’s just like how an interviewer avoids yes / no questions; they circumscribe dialogue. Cornett divides toys up by “real life” toys, “active or constructive” toys, and “creative expression” toys. Each genre offers the kid a chance to truly express himself, and therefore a therapist to observe. Here, per Cornett, are some parameters of — and our choices for — seven great toys for toddlers.
Every week I take my kid to a play therapist. My son is great and, because he’s six and also my son, has a hard time expressing his emotions through words. His play therapist is great too but out-of-network and so crazy expensive. Regardless, it’s totally worth it. Play therapy allows my son a way to express himself non-verbally and provides a professional to, to some extent, decode his play. (Like most therapists, she meets separately with us.) But you don’t need to be in a play therapist to offer your kid the ability to work through their shit — or simply express themselves in a more natural way — with toys. You just need the right toys.
This is a type of evolution from the glow worms you may have had as a child. The light provides a focal point for baby in the dark which may soothe them to sleep or just distract them from the anger of being put to bed. And the music will have a similar effect, making sure baby focuses on a calming toy rather than whatever could be making him cranky or distracted.
At 12 months, children are learning about patterns in the world, which also extends to routines. Predictable routines, like ones at nighttime, for example, “both help them feel very safe and secure, but also help them learn about the world and learn what to expect next,” says Lytle. This feeling of security also applies to loveys, because at this age, children are capable of forming some type of relationship with nonhumans, even characters on a favorite show. A familiar doll or toy can add an element of predictability in a situation that may be foreign. “Objects and dolls can’t respond to the child, but it is something that makes them feel secure,” she adds. Even if they don’t know what is going on around them, they will feel safe knowing that they have their favorite toy in their arms. Try this fox Sshlumpie, which is not only a cuddly companion for a 1-year-old but also a great lovey that can be taken on the go — and to sleep.

Everyone seems to be obsessed with going to Escape the Room parties.  Well now you can bring the party home with Escape the Room in a Box: Werewolf Experiment.  You’ll have one hour to crack some codes, solve some puzzles, and find some hidden clues.  Plus, even better, you can connect this game to your Alexa (if you have it) to keep track of time, ask questions, and even play a special soundtrack that just adds to the intensity of the game.  And your one hour begins….now!
Choo-choo! All aboard the LEGO DUPLO Steam Train. Designed for ages 2 through 5, the Steam Train set now allows younger kids to build a moving train out of DUPLO blocks. What’s cool? It’s interactive and even teaches some basic programming concepts with special blocks that serve as pieces of code. An interactive app allows you to take control of the train – sending it in motion either forward or backward. Kids are encouraged to explore with cause-and-effect play.
In addition to helping ease baby's pain, the Winkel rattle is designed to provide a full sensory experience. The loops are soft and pliable. Meanwhile, the entire design is meant to be lightweight and ideal for little hands to hold and maneuver. This toy, is BPA Free, giving parents a reason to rest well, despite the disruption caused to our household and rest routine, by a teething infant. To ensure this toy does indeed engulf baby in stimulation, within the cube's center are small rattling beads that offer auditory stimulation. The Winkel Rattle, made by Manhattan Toys is an excellent aid to help soothe your baby's sore gums, safe for ages 0-24 months.
