This vintage-inspired, all-sustainable-wood camper play set comes with four peg people and a pet dog ready to hit the road — or the front hall. “One-year-olds are just figuring out how they can influence the world around them, so they love putting things into containers and taking them out,” says Lytle. “This really speaks to that urge. It’s also nice that it’s a bus because a child that young is more likely to have been in a car or bus than a boat or plane, so this is more relatable.”
What do you get when art collides with family game night? You get Scultapalooza, a game where players have to sculpt what’s on their card before time runs out. Choosing the most popular teething toy for babies is quite easy. Just look at the number of positive reviews and you should already have an idea of its popularity. Unfortunately, this is not the only thing that you need to consider. Our team of researchers also had to consider the overall safety of the materials used in the design and manufacture of the teething toy. The use of harmful chemicals in the finishing of the product is a big no-no for us. Additionally, we had to look at the overall quality of the teething toy as well as the trustworthiness of the teething toy manufacturer. More importantly, we believe, the best teething toy should be able to provide the necessary sensory and psychomotor development that babies need.

This is the phase where toddlers grow into elementary bound children and what milestones they achieve during this phase can determine if they’ll properly function and succeed in the older children category. The first important milestone for this phase is the behavior milestone. At this phase, they have already achieved the socialization milestone from the previous phase but now it’s time to achieve the milestone of appropriate behavior when socializing. The toddler has to learn how to transition and adjust into settings where there is no longer one-to-one interaction but now multiple interactions. Achieving this milestone will help toddlers function in future environments without having temper tantrums.
When baby has dead, scaly, or dry skin, it can really irritate him without him really knowing how to express it. This soft loofah-like brush will help exfoliate all that new skin peeling and help fight the dry skin of winter. But our favorite use for this brush is definitely the help it can give to getting rid of cradle cap – which can otherwise last for months!
"It's a myth that babies can't play, even if they don't seem to be 'doing much' yet—they’re still taking everything in,” says Amanda Gummer, a research psychologist specializing in child development and spokesperson for the Genius of Play, a movement to raise awareness about the importance of play in kids’ lives. “Playing is a great way for parents and caregivers to build that vital bond with their baby, while sensory stimulations helps baby's brain grow.”

Toy vehicles provide kids with a mobile aspect of play that’s fascinating. Toddlers are drawn to anything with wheels or that moves on its own. There are plenty of vehicle options, from trucks that help with digging to cars that transport dolls, so you’re sure to find one that your tot will love. Just avoid cars that have small or loose parts that could be a choking hazard.
There are a variety of developmental milestones toddlers have to achieve and each milestone should ideally be achieved by a certain age. Do not worry if your toddler doesn’t reach a certain milestone quickly as possible like other toddlers as each toddler is different and develops at their own rate. However, if there is a slight concern of delayed development, please speak with your chosen child physician.

There’s a reason this book is so popular. It’s a great “wind down for sleep” book, and its variation from color to black and white pages reminds us that when babies are very small their eyesight can only pick up a few colors. The black and white pages may stand out better for babies, and reading the book in a low, almost-whisper will have baby thinking about bedtime enough that you might just read her right into a gentle sleep.

Here's the gift that won't stop giving: It's an activity table stacked with wheels, canals, a cup, boats and a tower. And though it was meant for water, we think it'd be just as fun with sand, dry noodles or rice, soap bubbles or mud. Babies like it just as much as bigger kids (as old as 5) do, so it's one of those super versatile toddler toys that will provide years of entertainment. ($44, walmart.com)

There’s also the main police station and holding cell. There’s a functional turret that helps with imaginative play. A really cool feature is that the jail bars can be broken off so the prisoner can escape. The police station has a nice lookout area. There’s a good amount of detail inside the police station and a cave beneath the holding cell featuring fun action for the cougar. The set comes with 7 minifigures, a police vehicle, motorbike, and two helicopters.
Baby can shake, roll, squeeze, and chew this delightful Bendy Ball. With plastic so flexible, even a baby can bend it and explore the wonders that the Einstein Bendy Ball contains. Small enough for tiny hands to manipulate and squeeze, the Bendy Ball will certainly be a first favorite for your child.
Even at the most infantile age, babies need to hear sounds and music to use and strengthen their hearing skills. The toys listed here that do make sounds or music, do so in a very gentle way that will not frighten or alarm the baby. They are introductory noises and music that soothes the baby into sleep or nap time easily. Not all toys must make sounds, but those that do must encourage the baby to listen and be something that it enjoys hearing. All of these toys do that very nicely.

That’s right folks, the people that brought you Hatchimals present, LuvaBella, an interactive baby doll that laughs when you tickle her, learns how to say certain words when you feed and play with her and, well, just about has the most life-like reactions and features we’ve ever seen on a doll.  Some say creepy, we say “futuristic.”   These were all the rage last year, but are much easier to get this year.
This cute, colorful product includes a child-sized stool where little ones will sit for hours. The interactive activity desk has five learning pages to teach numbers, counting, letters, fruits, and colors. STEM is huge right now. Botley is a colorful coding robot that is designed for teaching the youngest coders, as young as 5, how to program. There is no screen or app required. It comes with a variety of pieces. Kids will have to “code” Botley to navigate through a variety of obstacle courses. It teaches basic programming skills, such as loops and simple directional commands.
These Baltic amber beads are a lot like essential oils: they’re not a scientific 100% fix of anything. But there are just too many people who swear by them to brush them off as a fluke, and there is some science to back it. The Succinic Acid contained in the Baltic amber can have a pain relieving effect, and when it comes to a screaming baby, parents will take pretty much any possibility of relief. Plus, it looks adorable on a baby, too. Just remember not to let him or her sleep in it because it can be a choking hazard.
Exersaucers and jumpers encourage babies to take weight through their feet in a standing position while they play. For babies that are the recommended age range, who can not climb out, they give baby a contained place to play. However, developmentally, parents should be mindful of the time babies spend in exersaucers and always balance their playtime with floor time so baby can learn other developmental skills, too.
Instead of drinking from her bottle and wetting herself, the new Baby Alive Potty Dance Baby doll tinkles in her potty because she is potty trained. She features over 50 sounds, phrases, dances, and interactions to take the Baby Alive experience to the next level.
This 2-pack version conveniently comes in two different flavor/sensations!  There is the soft and chewy red raspberry version for a lighter gum massage with little pressure; or, the harder dark chocolate version of this cookie teether!  Both are designed so each ridge and floral pattern on the cookie has a different firmness of texture or “bite” to it.  It has a detachable cord that nursing mothers can wear around their neck, or simply hang within reach of their child when needed.

Another obvious hazard to be confronted are sharp corners. These are present on desks, tables, chairs, and more and can lead to serious injuries. Use padding to soften the edges and angles of furniture and, when needed, simply move a given piece of furniture out of the area. Watch out for loose carpets, especially if they are set on hard flooring. Carpets can create a tripping hazard when an edge rolls up, and they can slide underfoot when on a smooth surface. You can use a high friction pad under the carpet to prevent it from bunching or sliding and to help absorb the impact if and when a child does topple over.
